Spring 2007 Senior Capstone Project with Dubai Ports

A group of 4 DIG members, under the supervison of Dr. Mulhim Al-Doori, took on the reaponsibilty of designing and implementing a web based Port Management System. The project involved the design and developemt of a user-friendly terminal operating system that professionally manages all part of a container terminal operation with secure web based application technology for an internation commercial shipping and transport compant in Dubai. The system was developed using Oracle 10g, Jdeveloper, OC4J and other Java tools. The system was designed for flexible workflow tools and full integration with other business-critical systems and partners. The system allows terminal operations with full control of cargo at the gate, yard, and on rail cars or vessels. The result is faster which is helping more efficient cargo processing. A simple graphic based interface for gate, yard, and vessel inventory management is designed to reduce keystrokes and accelerate processing speed. Program provides easy to use terminal that help efficiently manage transactions.
